Gateway Clinic receives 2003 Quality Improvement
Award as Outstanding Clinic
Northstar
Physicians, an independent physician network,
recently announced that Gateway Clinic was the
recipient of the 2003 Quality Improvement Award as
the Outstanding Clinic. The award is given
annually to the clinic that displays individual
performance that reaches far beyond the
requirements and care standards established by the
organization.
Gateway has had a history of having good
performance in the Northstar Quality Improvement
Programs. In 2003, Gateway demonstrated
outstanding percentages of improvement in all
areas measured by Northstar, and were leaders in
each of the programs.
“We are very pleased to receive this award” said
Bill Palmer, Administrator at Gateway Clinic.
“This award is a result of the dedication and hard
work from our physicians, providers, and all of
our staff.” Palmer also noted the contributions of
Dr. Kelly Goeb, Medical Director, and Sue Karkela,
RN, Quality Improvement Coordinator for Gateway
Clinic. “Both Dr. Goeb and Sue have done an
excellent job in leading our Quality Improvement
Programs, we appreciate their work and efforts”.
The Clinic is working hard on
Quality Improvement Projects for 2004. QI
Programs for this year include: Patient Safety,
Hypertension Management, Tobacco Cessation,
Diabetes Management, Asthma Management, and Child
& Teen Checkups.
